CNG & electric cab driver jobs

The fare table pays the same whatever fuel you burn. That makes running cost per kilometre the one lever entirely under your control — and it is where CNG and EV drivers quietly win.

CNG · electric · petrol · diesel — all welcome · 5% commission on every fare

Why fuel choice decides your profit, not your fare

A ₹200 fare is a ₹200 fare regardless of what is in the tank. So the difference between drivers on the same route, the same hours and the same platform comes almost entirely from two numbers: what the platform deducts, and what the kilometre cost. GediGoo fixes the first at 5% plus GST on it. The second is your choice of vehicle.

CNG

The default for full-time Tricity drivers, and for good reason — the lowest running cost per kilometre available today. The cost is your time in refuelling queues, so plan around them.

Electric

Cheaper still per kilometre if you can charge overnight at home. Public charging mid-shift is unpaid standing time, which is the real constraint, not range.

Petrol

Perfectly workable part-time. At full-time distances the fuel bill compounds faster than most new drivers expect.

Diesel

Makes sense only at high daily distance, and check your vehicle's age against the commercial rules that apply locally.

A note on our own history

GediGoo launched describing itself as an EV-first service and has since broadened to CNG and other fuels, because that is what drivers in the Tricity actually own and can afford to run. Some older pages on this site still carry the original EV-only wording. The current position is the one on this page: bring whatever vehicle you have, as long as the paperwork is right.

Driver FAQs

Do I need a CNG or electric car to drive with GediGoo?

No. Petrol, diesel, CNG and electric vehicles are all accepted. CNG and EV simply cost less per kilometre to run, which is why many full-time drivers choose them.

Is the commission lower for electric vehicles?

No — it is 5% of the fare plus GST on that commission for every vehicle type. On a ₹200 ride that is ₹10 and ₹1, leaving you ₹189.

Does GediGoo provide a CNG or electric car?

No. GediGoo is a platform, not a fleet — you drive your own vehicle or one attached from an owner. See car attachment.

Is a CNG car actually cheaper to run for a cab?

Per kilometre, yes, which is why it is the common choice among full-time Tricity drivers. Weigh that against refuelling queue time, which is time you are not earning.

Can I drive an electric cab if I do not have home charging?

You can, but public charging during a shift is unpaid standing time. Drivers who can charge overnight get most of the benefit; those who cannot often find CNG works out better in practice.

Was GediGoo not an EV-only service?

It launched that way and has since opened to CNG and other fuels, because that reflects what drivers here actually own. Any EV-only wording still on older pages of this site is out of date.
