Search "cab driver salary in Chandigarh" and you will find confident monthly numbers on job boards. Treat them carefully. App-based driving is not a salaried job — there is no fixed pay, and two drivers on the same platform, in the same city, in the same month can end up far apart. What is worth understanding is the four things that actually decide your take-home.

There is no single honest number — it depends on how many rides you complete, your average fare, what your vehicle costs to run and how much commission your platform deducts. Anyone quoting you a guaranteed monthly salary for app-based driving is guessing or selling something. Use the earnings calculator with your own figures instead.
No. GediGoo is not an employer offering a salary — you drive as an independent partner and keep the fares you earn, less 5% commission plus GST on that commission. We publish the commission because that is the part we actually control.
Commission and running cost. A platform taking 25–30% removes a quarter of your revenue before fuel. After that, petrol versus CNG is usually the largest controllable cost per kilometre.
It depends on your other work. Full-time driving spreads fixed costs — insurance, servicing, EMI — over more rides. Part-time driving in peak hours only can produce better earnings per hour, but the fixed costs still have to be covered.
Longer trips bring bigger single fares, but the return leg is often empty, so revenue per kilometre driven can be worse than a run of short city trips. Judge trips by the whole round journey, not the fare shown.
