Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how GediGoo ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the GediGoo rider and driver apps and related services (the "Service") in the Tricity / Chandigarh region, India. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account details — your mobile number (used for OTP login), and the name, email, and profile photo you choose to add.
- Location — precise device location, used to set your pickup, match you with nearby drivers, navigate trips, and (for drivers) share your live position while online and during rides. You control this permission and can change it anytime in your device settings.
- Ride information — pickup and drop-off, route, fare, timestamps, ratings, and cancellation details.
- Payments — payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay. We do not store your full card or bank details on our servers.
- Driver verification (drivers only) — KYC documents (e.g. licence, vehicle registration, photo) submitted for onboarding and compliance.
- Device & technical data — app version, device type, and push-notification tokens used to deliver ride and safety alerts.
- Usage & analytics data — we use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the apps are used (e.g. screens viewed, features used, crashes) so we can improve reliability and the experience. This includes app-interaction events and identifiers such as a device/installation ID and the mobile advertising identifier. This data is used for analytics only; we do not use it to serve third-party advertising.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the Service — match riders and drivers, navigate, calculate fares, and process payments.
- To keep trips safe — including in-ride SOS, trip sharing, and support.
- To send service notifications (ride status, driver arrival, account updates).
- To verify driver eligibility and meet legal/tax/financial obligations.
- To improve reliability and prevent fraud or misuse.
3. How information is shared
- Between rider and driver — limited details needed to complete a trip (e.g. first name, photo, rating, live location during the ride).
- Service providers — Google (Maps, and Firebase for notifications and analytics), Razorpay (payments), and our hosting provider, who process data on our behalf.
- Legal — when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of users.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Some records (e.g. completed-ride and payment history) are retained after account closure where required for legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes.
5. How to delete your account
You can request deletion of your GediGoo account and personal data at any time:
- In the app — open Profile → Delete Account, then confirm. This submits a deletion request to our team.
- By email — write to support@gedigoo.com from your registered email or with your registered mobile number.
What happens next: our team reviews and processes the request. Once approved, your personal details (name, email, profile photo) are anonymised, your account is deactivated, and you are signed out and unable to sign back in.
What is kept: records we are legally required to retain — such as completed-ride and payment/ledger history — are kept in anonymised or transactional form for the period required by Indian law, and are not used to identify you.
Deletion is typically completed within 30 days of an approved request.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls, signed expiring links for documents) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, in-app.
